Bottom: Rotherham’s Millmoor Stadium – mostly abandoned but incredibly, still standing fourteen years after the gates were closed for the last time. Now it hosts an occasional youth game and is owned by the family of the scrapyard that lies behind it. (picture courtesy of @stank81 on Twitter)
In this section, we will take a look at football grounds that are either no longer with us or are no longer used by the football club that used to play there.
To narrow it down a little, we have just listed stadiums that were home to football league teams at the time the ground was departed, or who are currently in the football league. (Exception, York City. This is due to them being a league team for 75 years)
All of the stadium changes listed are from post-1980
They are listed in chronological order, as they were replaced by newer stadiums or a club just moved on for whatever reason.
We will endeavour to keep the list relevant as and when clubs change stadiums.
We welcome any old photographs or memories you may have from these ‘Gone but not Forgotten’ stadiums.
