I want to encourage our readers to have a go at writing their own articles and having them published on HoppersGuide.com.
You may feel you can’t do it, you might feel you will embarrass yourself… you won’t!
First, I will only publish articles worthy of publication; secondly, I will edit any typos, spelling mistakes, etc. out of the article. The main thing I am interested in from you is the actual content.
We want to let football fans around the UK and Ireland (and beyond) have a voice and to share that voice with other football fans. Social media seems like a great place to do that but the reality is that it can be a hostile platform at times and great points can sometimes be lost in the white noise that follows.
When your subject is published as a standalone article, people will always get to read the actual points you are making.
So, why not give it a try?
There are so many things to talk about in football that it is impossible to list them all but you may wish to talk about your club, let people know about how great your obscure non-league team is and why people should visit.
Have your say on modern football and whether it has improved, or gone backwards.
Should safe standing areas be reintroduced, as they have been in some other countries? Will this improve the atmosphere as much as people expect it to?
Do you think the governing bodies of football should introduce transfer and wage caps to help prevent financial problems from spiralling out of control?
How do you feel about the World Cup being held in Qatar? Should it be boycotted, or embraced?
These are just small samples of the topics that can be written about and I’m sure you have your own thoughts on all of these topics and more.
This is also a perfect opportunity for young, aspiring sports journalists to make their mark and we are excited to give people the opportunity to be heard.
